At Xpert Resourcing, we are passionate about supporting and celebrating the incredible people in our community, which is why we were honoured to sponsor the Ely Hero Award at this year’s Ely Hero Awards ceremony. The event, now in its 7th year, shone a spotlight on the extraordinary individuals who go above and beyond to make Ely such a special place to live and work.

The glittering event, hosted at The Maltings on September 13th, was filled with inspiring stories, heartfelt moments, and a touch of masquerade ball magic. As the evening unfolded, winners across ten categories were announced, but the pinnacle of the night came with the presentation of the Ely Hero Award 2024, sponsored and presented by us at Xpert Resourcing.

This year’s worthy recipient, Angels Arribas, truly embodied what it means to be a community hero. Her dedication to the Oasis Cancer Hub, a support group she founded for individuals affected by cancer, has touched countless lives. In her emotional acceptance speech, she shared, “In the same way we need oxygen to breathe, we need community”—a sentiment that perfectly captures the spirit of the Ely Hero Awards.

We are incredibly proud to have been part of such a meaningful event and to have had the privilege of recognising someone as deserving as Angels Arribas. Huge congratulations also to category finalists Linda Dummet and Linda Hutchinson, also outstanding community heroes.
